In order to be eligible to become a Notary in the State of Illinois, you must meet the following qualifications:
At notaries.com you will complete a notary application, purchase your notary bond and pre-order your stamp. As you follow the prompts on notaries.com you will provide the information required for your Notary Commission. Once you have made your payment you will be able to PRINT your application. The application is ONE page. It includes a personal information section, the Notarial Oath and the Notary Bond. You must sign the Notarial Oath in the presence of a current Illinois Notary. That notary MUST sign their name exactly as it appears on their stamp and the image of the stamp itself MUST be completely legible. You must also sign the notary bond, at the bottom of the application, the physical home address on your application must match the address on your Illinois driver's license.
MAIL your original signed and notarize application and a photocopy of your Illinois Driver's License or State ID card to:
Notaries.com
225 E Robinson St #570
Orlando, FL 32801
You must submit the original document, not a copy. A photocopy of your driver's license must be provided. Notaries.com will then submit your application to the state on your behalf. Once the State of Illinois appoints you as a Notary Public they will notify your County of Residence, County Clerk's Office. Unless there is an issue with your application you will receive a letter from your County of Residence letting you know you have been appointed. Please watch your mail for a letter from your County Clerk's office. PLEASE NOTE: It can take up to 12 weeks before you receive your letter from your county after your application has been submitted to the state.
You will pre-order your Notary Stamp when you complete your application and purchase your notary bond at notaries.com. Once the State has appointed you, they will issue your Notary Commission Certificate. You MUST email a copy of your Notary Commission certificate to info@notaries.com so we can manufacture your custom notary stamp. The state does not allow us to manufacture your stamp until we have received a copy of your Notary Commission Certificate. AGAIN, THE STATE DOES NOT NOTIFY NOTARIES.COM THAT YOU HAVE REGISTERED YOUR SIGNATURE. Once we receive the copy of your Notary Commission Certificate your notary stamp will be manufactured and shipped to you within 7-10 business days.
