Why You Need E&O Insurance as a Notary

Errors and Omissions insurance protects notaries from liability and financial loss if they commit a negligent act while performing notarial duties. To avoid paying any out-of-pocket legal fees if a file is claimed, we recommend E&O insurance for all notaries.

Tips for Completing an Error-Free Application

  1. Include a scanned copy of your notarized Oath of Office form with your online application.
  2. Study and review the state's Notary Public License Law.
  3. The notary application requires a $60 filing fee that goes to the Department of State. Provide a check or money order payable to the Department of State. Or pay using your Mastercard or Visa with a credit card authorization form.
